Presentation details
I have put together a free 45 minute to one hour presentation for high school students, college students, and young adults about the advantages of starting saving early in life, compound interest, living below your means, avoiding debt, credit cards, buying a car, saving for retirement, investing in the stock market, 401(k), Roth IRA, etc. By the end of the presentation, students will have a good understanding of what needs to be done, to have a better financial future.
My name is Dean and I was able to retire eleven years ago at the age of 51. You might wonder how I was able to retire at such an early age. I have put together a presentation that describes just how I did it. I like to give the presentation to high school students, college students, and young adults because it is much easier to retire early if you start at a young age. Even if you don’t want to retire early, the presentation demonstrates many good money habits that can help everyone.
Need a plan
Doing well with money or retiring early does not just happen. People do not wake up one morning with enough money to be able to retire. It starts with a plan. Many people have a problem making a plan because they don’t know where to start. That is where my presentation comes in. It will help you get started.
I have presented at 26 Austin area high schools including all six Leander high schools, all five Round Rock schools, all four Pflugerville schools, Georgetown, East View, and Liberty Hill High Schools. I presented to over 3,700 students in 2023/24. I am an approved volunteer through LISD. I also present on Zoom or Google Meet to anyone in the country.
Very interactive presentation
The presentation is not just sitting down and listening to me drone on about facts. It is very interactive and keeps the students engaged. I ask them many questions and they are encouraged to ask me questions throughout the presentation. My feedback from teachers at high schools and professors at colleges is that the students really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
If you are a teacher or leader at a school, church, club, or other organization, I would look forward to teaching your students. Just fill out the form above with details on your group and where you are located and we can work out the details on where and when. I would also be glad to present on Zoom. If you don't have a group and want to hear the presentation, just fill out the form and I will let you know the next time I have a Zoom presentation.
